The thermocouple isn't getting hot enough from the pilot light on the patio heater to open the main gas valve. If i use my propane torch to turn the thermocouple cherry red, the main gas valve opens up and the patio heater burns perfectly fine. It's kind of a pain in the ass to have to do that every time though.
